Although Avengers: Age of Ultron has already unveiled its official trailer, we’re yet to see much of Iron Man’s suit… but now we get a much closer look thanks to an awesome replica.
Apart from the promotional image of Iron Man and Captain America side-by-side, we still haven’t seen much of Tony Stark’s latest creation – the Mark XLIII Iron Man Armour. But while the recent trailer failed to shed light on Tony’s latest suit, it looks as though we have finally gotten a good look at it, thanks to a Hot Toys replica.
Thanks to the folks at Hot Toys, we’ve now got a bunch of new images of the upcoming Mark XLIII Iron Man suit… or at least, their interpretation of it. Although let’s be honest – Hot Toys are renowned for their screen accuracy.
“Hot Toys is thrilled to jump start the Avengers: Age of Ultron collectible series by presenting the 1/6th scale Mark XLIII Collectible Figure,” they explain. “It is also the newest addition to our MMS Diecast Series which the collectible figures are made of diecast material, and realistically designed to look even more like the armor as it appears in the blockbuster.”
Of course, the first thing of note is the colour scheme. Although very similar to the Mark XLII armour in Iron Man 3 it seems that Marvel has made the very wise decision to make most of the suit red.
I have to admit, I really loved the previous Iron Man suit, but always hated the amount of gold-coloured parts – particularly the chest piece. But the new Mark XLIII seems to have gone the other way… and if you ask me, it looks a lot more like the classic Iron Man we know and love.
“The movie-accurate Mark XLIII Collectible Figure is highly detailed and specially crafted based on the image of Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Mark XLIII in Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
“[It features] a newly painted Tony Stark helmeted head sculpt, metallic red, gold and silver armor with weathered effects, LED light-up functions, and a specially designed diorama base with a damaged Ultron Mark I. A special edition will be available for selected markets which includes a LED lighted battle damaged helmet as bonus accessory.”
Unfortunately, we’re yet to get a proper look at the Mark XLIII suit on the big screen… but with Avengers: Age of Ultron just around the corner, it surely won’t be too long.
