Another Superman Movie Could Be On The Way

It looks as though Man of Steel is just the beginning…

Man of Steel is just the beginning as another Superman movie is rumoured.

According to Batman V Superman director Zack Snyder, we could eventually see another Superman solo movie… despite DC’s pretty crammed slate.

“I think if we could get a good script it’d be great to have a standalone Superman movie,” he told IGN. “I think that would be fun to do.”

Ben Affleck Has Written A Batman Script

Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel recently appeared in the DC superhero epic, Batman V Superman alongside Ben Affleck as Batman.

But is there really enough demand for another solo film?

“We’re in the process of looking at [another Superman film],” said producer Charles Roven. “But we don’t have it on the schedule at the moment because we’re quite busy with the movies that we have scheduled.”

Of course, Warner Bros. still has plenty to do when it comes to DC’s upcoming movies… and with a number of solo films on the cards (including The Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman) as well as Suicide Squad and Justice League, they do have their hands full.

But Henry Cavill remains as keen as ever.

“If [Batman V Superman] goes well, then we can start negotiating with Warner Bros. to develop a standalone Superman,” he said. “But they’ve got their plans set out for other stuff and Justice Leagues and various other movies, so it’s about finding the time really. It’s something I’d be very keen to do.”

But will Warner Bros. take a punt?

Batman V Superman may have performed rather well at the box office in its opening weekend, but a sharp decline in figures has left studio execs scratching their heads. And let’s face it – Man of Steel wasn’t exactly warmly received, either.

Either way, there’s no denying – there’s still plenty of room for this Superman to grow.

But do audiences care enough to see it? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Do you think Superman should get another solo movie? Could a follow up to Man of Steel help steer him in the right direction? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
