Arnold Schwarzenegger claims there’s another Terminator on its way…
According to the 68-year-old Terminator Genisys star, he will be back… in yet-another cynical cash in of the Terminator franchise.
“I am looking forward to it, absolutely,” he said during the Arnold Classic Sports and Fitness Festival in Melbourne.
He also reportedly confirmed that he will be a part of the sixth instalment.
But where does the sci-fi franchise go from here?
Unfortunately, Schwarzenegger didn’t reveal any further details… or even a rough idea of when we can expect the next Terminator movie to appear in cinemas. So for now, it looks as though fans are being left in the dark.
Could we see Arnie reprise the role of the original T-800 as in Genisys?
It’s certainly possible – after all, the soft reboot of the franchise included a beaten-up T-800 being sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor… and that Terminator, also known as Pops to young Sarah Connor, ultimately lived to fight another day.
And that likely means yet-another time-bending confrontation.
But will the fans really want another Terminator movie?
Let’s be honest – Genisys failed to resonate with most cinemagoers and currently holds a rather miserable 26% Fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
And the reason? It’s time-bending antics essentially undid much of the original movies… and brought very little to the table in terms of originality.
Could another sequel put things right that once went wrong?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but maybe the T-800 should just be left alone.
Terminator Genisys starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese and Lee Byung-hun as T-1000. Matt Smith also featured.
