After months of rumours, Jason Momoa has been cast as Aquaman… but what does Zack Snyder think of the casting? It seems he has nothing but praise for the King of Atlantis.
He’s denied the rumours for months now, but it looks as though it was all a ruse – Jason Momoa will be DC’s big screen Aquaman. But while Arthur Curry looks set for a far more gritty look in the upcoming Justice League, will he appear in Batman V Superman? Zack Snyder may not confirm it either way, but he certainly sings his praises…
Cara Delevingne Rumoured For Suicide Squad
In an interview with CBS Detroit, the Batman V Superman director revealed that he’s excited to work with Jason Momoa… and seems to be pretty impressed by the man’s stature.
“I think the last time I called, we talked a little bit about Aquaman,” he said. “But it hadn’t been announced that Jason Momoa was gonna play Aquaman.”
“I was trying to protect you guys from his wrath,” he jokingly added. “The man is a monster. The guy is awesome and he’s so passionate. I was hanging out with him here in Detroit and he was loving on it so hard. He’s a great guy, but like I say not a small individual.”
Of course, Momoa is perhaps most famously known for playing Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones… and has become known for his rather beefy stature. But perhaps most fittingly of all, he starred in the sci-fi TV series Stargate: Atlantis.
Just warming up for the role, eh?
Of course, we still have no idea whether or not Jason Momoa will appear in the upcoming Batman V Superman movie… but after hearing that he and director Zack Snyder hung out in Detroit, it sounds like a big possibility.
Either way, it looks as though DC’s big screen Aquaman will be shedding that camp image and taking a far more butch appearance. I’ve said all along – if anyone can give Aquaman a rougher, cooler look, it’s Jason Momoa.
Jaden Smith Rumoured For Static Shock
Let’s just hope he steers clear of orange and green spandex.
