After the official trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron was leaked last week, it looks as though they’ve pulled out the big guns for an extended peak at the Avengers sequel.
It’s less than a week since Marvel released its first official trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. But with plans to release it alongside a new episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. it seems the pressure was on to find something else. And if you ask me, they’ve really stepped up to the plate with this extended trailer.
Featuring a number of new scenes, this extended teaser feels largely like the trailer we saw last week… but don’t be fooled – there’s plenty of new footage in there if you know where to look.
Most obviously, there’s a longer intro sequence which shows the Avengers themselves, just hanging out at the Avengers Tower. Banter is the name of the game here, and as each of the Avengers tries their hand at lifting Thor’s hammer, it’s not long before the super-powered social gathering turns sour…
“How could you be worthy,” says Ultron as he stumbles into the limelight. “You’re all puppets… tangled in strings.”
But that’s not all. We also get some new scenes that may hint towards a romance between Hulk and the Black Widow, as well as an extended look at the rather epic Iron Man V Hulk fight, in all its Hulkbusting glory.
And perhaps most interestingly, we see Chris Hemsworth’s Thor grasping Tony Stark by the throat. Could this be a hint at the dissention in the ranks? It’s certainly no accident after they announced Captain America: Civil War.
Of course, how this all plays out remains to be seen. But one thing’s for certain – Ultron is beginning to look like Marvel’s most sinister villain to date.
