Batman may appear in the Suicide Squad movie after all… as Ben Affleck arrives on set in Toronto.
Arriving in Toronto earlier today, Ben Affleck was instantly snapped by the paparazzi… and DC fans soon began speculating that he could appear in the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’. But it looks as though we have to speculate no longer, as the Batman V Superman star arrives on the set of the upcoming DC super villain flick.
That’s right – it seems Batman will be heading to Suicide Squad.
Snapped by Twitter user Bart Fear, the 42-year-old Batman is reportedly on set for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
And that all-but confirms Batman’s appearance in the movie.
But will he appear as the grizzled Batman of Batman V Superman or as Bruce Wayne?
We’ve already heard rumours for some time that Batman would appear in this movie – likely a plot point involving Jared Leto’s Joker. In fact, one rumoured plot synopsis claims Amanda Waller – who assembles the Suicide Squad – is obsessed with finding out Batman’s identity.
And the Squad is tasked with breaking the Joker out of prison in order to get more info.
Of course, none of this is confirmed for the time being… but with Ben Affleck spotted on set, it looks as though we may be one step closer to the truth.
But to what extent is Affleck involved with the Suicide Squad movie?
If you ask me, it’s just too early to tell. He could be there for an extended shoot, or it could merely be an after-credit cameo featuring Batman and The Joker. After all, it’s the kind of thing we’ve come to expect of modern comic book movies.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see… but the thought that we could see Batman and The Joker on screen together is rather awesome.
Suicide Squad heads to cinemas on 5 August 2016.
