Lex Luthor might not be the only DC villain headed to Batman V Superman…
It’s no secret that Batman V Superman pits two of the most iconic superheroes against each other in an epic, super-powered battle. But that won’t stop some of DC’s classic supervillains from taking advantage of the situation. Of course, we know that Lex Luthor will appear in the upcoming movie. But could we see some other DC villains joining him?
According to Badass Digest, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will introduce even more classic DC villains… and that includes a very familiar name.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will establish the wider DC Universe on the big screen, and by the time the movie is over we’ll have met Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, Lex Luthor and Doomsday,” they reveal. “Let me confirm for you that Doomsday is in the film.”
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that Doomsday has been linked to an upcoming DC movie. After all, he was rumoured to appear in the recent Man of Steel. But will he actually show his face this time around?
As much as I think we’d all love to see it, I can’t help thinking it might be a bit of a stretch to introduce Doomsday – a deadly monster from the depths of ancient Krypton – straight off the bat. But could he appear in a post-credit scene? That’s entirely possible…
But it seems that Doomsday isn’t the only villain linked to Batman V Superman…
“One of Luthor’s agents has a name, and that name is Anatoli Knyazev,” they explain. “Hardcore fans will recognize that as the name of the KGBeast, a Batman villain introduced in 1988’s classic Ten Nights of the Beast storyline.”
An enhanced agent of the KGB, Knyazev eventually finds himself upgraded with a cybernetic gun attached to his arm, in place of his hand. But it’s unlikely that we’ll see this version of the character on screen.
Instead, it looks as though KGBeast will be receiving similar treatment to Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier – a knowing nod to the fans, but nothing more as yet.
But here’s the kicker – The Joker already exists.
“In the world of Batman v Superman the Joker already exists, and Superman knows about him,” they reveal. “We don’t see him in this movie, though.”
Of course, that seems to be backed up by Jared Leto’s recent casting as The Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. But will we see our first hints of The Joker in Batman V Superman?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but I can’t help thinking that WB and DC have big plans for Jared Leto.
