It looks as though Ben Affleck has written his own Batman script.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Batman V Superman star has already written his own Batman solo film… and it’s apparently getting a great response from studio insiders.
“He’s contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape,” said Endeavour co-CEO Patrick Whitesell. He added that “there’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Affleck has been linked to the creative side of a solo batman film… as THR recently revealed he was currently working on a project with DC maestro, Geoff Johns.
“The two are developing a plan that Affleck will direct and star as the Caped Crusader in a feature he would tackle after he directs Live by Night,” they revealed. And apparently, the Batman V Superman star was so keen to direct his own solo film, that he had it written into his Warner Bros. contract.
But will he come up with the goods for a Batman solo script?
Ben Affleck has already proved himself as a more than capable director in the rather excellent, Oscar-winning Argo. And when it comes to the Caped Crusader, the 43-year-old star is well versed there, too… after all, he’s even (at one time) owned his own batcave.
Does this mean the Batman solo film is in capable hands?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but it sounds as though Warner Bros. may have made the deal of the century when they signed Ben Affleck for the role of Batman.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is in cinemas now.
