Chris Pratt In Talks For Indiana Jones?

Indiana Jones may be getting a reboot with Chris Pratt

January 28, 2015 by Ryan Leston

Indiana Jones 5 may have found its cinematographer

Chris Pratt is apparently in the running for the role of Indiana Jones.

It’s been seven years since we last saw Indiana Jones take to our screens… and let’s be honest, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was hardly a phenomenal return. But can the franchise be saved?

With Harrison Ford presumably busy with Star Wars, it looks as though Disney is looking towards a younger model… and it might end up being Chris Pratt.

Janusz Kaminski For Indiana Jones 5?

According to Deadline Hollywood, the 35-year-old actor has been in talks to take over from Harrison Ford as the legendary adventurer, Indiana Jones.

“Disney has just started to turn its attention to reviving the Indiana Indiana Jones franchise after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013,” they said. “I’m cautioned that while things are very early, I hear the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around.”

Of course, the role was made famous by Harrison Ford after his amazing performance in Raiders of the Lost Ark but after starring in Guardians of the Galaxy, many fans have seen parallels between Chris Pratt and Harrison Ford’s very own space cowboy, Han Solo.

It’s certainly no co-incidence then, to see Pratt reportedly up for the role of Indiana Jones. But it seems it’s early days…

“Disney won’t comment and all this is admittedly early,” they explain. “So let’s chalk it up as a dishy informed rumour for now and keep an eye on it.”

I can’t help thinking that Chris Pratt would be perfect for the role. After his performance in Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s clear that he’s got the swagger… and with the looks to boot, Disney would be onto a real winner.

But can they get him on board?

Obviously, Pratt already has a history with Disney after Guardians of the Galaxy, and that’s going to continue with the upcoming sequel. Of course, this makes his schedule a little busy, at least for the time being. But it may make negotiating the role a little easier.

Should Chris Pratt take the iconic role? Absolutely… and I can’t help think that if the rumours are true, he’s probably jumping for joy right about now. Let’s just hope he gets to put on that fedora.

Do you think Chris Pratt would make a good Indiana Jones? Could anyone else take the iconic role? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
