Daniel Craig Has A Star Wars VII Cameo?

007 may have suited up for Star Wars.

4th January 2015 by Ryan Leston

Daniel Craig Star Wars VII

James Bond himself might just head to the galaxy far, far away… Daniel Craig is rumoured for a cameo in Star Wars VII.

After Star Wars VII set up camp at Pinewood Studios, it was perhaps inevitable that the production wold cross paths with the British institution that is James Bond. But with 007 and gang preparing for the upcoming Bond movie SPECTRE, it looks as though Daniel Craig and some of his fellow cast members may have had time to film a small Star Wars cameo…

Star Wars Spin-Off Featuring Han Solo And Pirates?

According to Mike The Film Guy, sources have confirmed that Daniel Craig will appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“The man famous for playing James Bond will be in The Force Awakens,” he explained. “007 will be playing a stormtrooper in the movie…  I have heard this from multiple sources. This is something at this point I am pretty much sure of. Especially when others are hearing the same thing as me.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard Daniel Craig connected to Star Wars VII.

We’ve seen a number of rumours circulating that Craig would appear in any number of roles in the upcoming Star Wars sequel. And while most of them have been presumed to be false, it looks as though we might now have some idea why they came about.

After all, a Star Wars cameo by the 007 cast makes a lot of sense…

The upcoming Bond film SPECTRE will be filming on the same lot as Star Wars VII. And it’s certainly not a stretch to see Daniel Craig and pals heading over to the studio for a glimpse of the galaxy far, far away. Especially since their film is presumed to have stepped into the studio immediately following Star Wars VII.

But this isn’t the first time Craig has been spotted on the Star Wars VII set.

“I was reliably informed that there were loads of Stormtroopers on [set] a few weeks earlier,” said a source to Making Star Wars. “Including Bond cast [such as] Daniel Craig dressed in Stormtrooper outfits.”

In this context, perhaps a Star Wars cameo isn’t so farfetched. After all, with setup beginning on the upcoming Bond movie, perhaps there was a chance for a bit of fun with Abrams and the Star Wars crew before filming began.

Star Wars VII’s Millennium Falcon Close-Up

Of course, there’s been plenty of speculation that Daniel Craig may appear in the movie without the classic bucket helmet… perhaps as a named Trooper. But I can’t help thinking that this is perhaps a bit too far. In my opinion, an impromptu cameo is far more likely. And it’s exactly the kind of thing that would be done for kicks rather than a fully-fledged cameo.

Will Daniel Craig actually appear in Star Wars VII? For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but I get the feeling that’s just wishful thinking for Bond fans.

Star Wars VII heads to cinemas on 18 December 2015.

What do you think of this rather cool rumour? Will Daniel Craig don the infamous stormtrooper costume? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
