Daredevil has already taken Netflix by storm, but it looks as though Charlie Cox is keen to suit up in his very own Marvel movie.
It’s no secret that Marvel’s Daredevil is doing extraordinarily well. Bringing an entirely new style and tone to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s turned plenty of heads as the Devil of New York takes to the streets.
And with Kingpin in the mix, it’s been quite an explosive journey.
But could TV’s Daredevil front his own movie?
During an interview with IGN, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox admitted that he’d love to team up with some of Marvel’s more high-profile heroes… and perhaps even head out on his own.
“Yeah that would be awesome,” he said about a Daredevil stand-alone film. “I’d love to do that. I love doing the TV show and I love that we have so much more time to explore the origin story and real deal with character and inner conflict, and spend a lot of time brooding in that world and those feelings, which is unusual for a superhero.”
Obviously, this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen Daredevil head to the big screen. But after Ben Affleck’s abysmal appearance in the 2003 film, perhaps it’s time we put it behind us and made way for the Daredevil we’ve all been waiting for…
And that’s obviously Charlie Cox.
Of course, the 32-year-old actor is happy enough as the star of the Daredevil TV show… and with a second season recently approved, it looks as though we’ll be seeing plenty more of him in the years to come.
After all, he’ll eventually join Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist to form The Defenders.
But while Cox is clearly enjoying his stint as Daredevil, it seems he’s rather keen to get his own film… and that’s something we’d love to see.
“Usually when you’ve got a two-hour movie it’s action-packed, and so I think that’s one of the things that the show has really benefitted from – having that extra time to really get to know and sit with these characters and see them as humans,” he said. “But I’d love to see Daredevil on the big screen again. It would be great. And if I could be involved with that I’d be thrilled.”
Of course, for now we’ll have to wait and see… but I get the feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of Daredevil in the years to come.
