After appearing as Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 it looks as though Felicity Jones is eager to reprise the role as Marvel hero Black Cat.
Although Felicity Jones has already appeared in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, it looks as though she’s not content with simply being Harry Osborn’s assistant. And while she’s obviously keen to return, it seems she’d love to see Felicia Hardy take a more heroic role as Black Cat.
In an interview with GQ, the 31-year-old British actress revealed that she’d love to play the part of Spider-Man’s Black Cat.
“Being vacuum-packed into a leather suit, doing backflips?” she asked. “I’d love that. Can you start a petition for me?”
Of course, while The Amazing Spider-Man 2 proved to be quite the box office hit, it left a lot to be desired when it came to the film’s critical reception. With its questionable plot and often even worse dialogue, the movie was one of the lowest grossing Spider-Man films to date.
But would an appearance from Black Cat help matters?
There’s already been talk of a female-led Spider-Man movie… but whether or not that makes it to the big screen remains to be seen. But perhaps there’s still room for Black Cat to appear in the now-postponed Amazing Spider-Man 3.
Of course, this would mean that Jones wouldn’t get to reprise the role until an unspecified date in 2018… but that might not be the earliest we see her.
Appearing as Harry Osborn’s aide in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, this could have repercussions in the now fast-tracked Sinister Six spin-off. That’s not to say that Black Cat would appear as one of the six… but perhaps events could be engineered to lead up to her donning her very own super suit.
Either way, it looks as though Felicia Hardy will be back. But quite how soon remains to be seen.
