Finn Jones Cast As Marvel’s Iron Fist

Marvel martial arts show Iron Fist has found its lead.

Iron Fist Marvel

It’s official – Finn Jones is Marvel’s Iron Fist.

After rumours that the 27-year-old Game of Thrones star had been cast as Marvel’s Iron Fist, it looks as though Finn Jones has signed on the dotted line.

“Marvel and Netflix are pleased to announce that Finn Jones will star in Marvel’s Iron Fist,” they revealed, “the newest series coming soon only to Netflix.”

But who is Iron Fist?

And how will he fit in alongside Daredevil and Jessica Jones?

“[Finn] Jones will play Daniel Rand, who returns to New York City after being missing for years,” they explain. “He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

It certainly sounds as though a more mystical element will be coming into play and is likely to tie into some of the shadowy martial arts organisations we’ve already seen in the Daredevil series.

“Danny Rand is a very complicated character,” said Executive Producer Scott Buck. “He’s a billionaire New York Buddhist monk martial arts superhero who’s still trying to figure out what exactly that all means. Finn is able to play all these levels in such an honest, revelatory way that as soon as I saw him I knew he was our Danny.”

And it sounds as though Finn Jones completely bowled them over.

Indiana Jones 5 Finally Confirmed

“Finn wonderfully blends confidence with vulnerability, making him the perfect choice as he struggles to find his place in the world,” said Head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb.

Now that all of Marvel’s TV heroes have been cast, it looks as though a team-up as The Defenders is just around the corner. And we can’t wait to see how that all pans out.

“Now that we’ve found our Danny Rand, we’ve completed our principal cast for the upcoming Defenders on Netflix,” said Loeb. “We are thrilled to continue to show audiences unexplored corners of the Marvel Universe.”

Do you think Finn Jones will make a great Iron Fist? Are you looking forward to the upcoming series? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
