Corey Stoll will suit up as Ant-Man’s new nemesis, Yellowjacket… but what will he look like? A new, leaked image gives us our first glimpse.
Although Yellowjacket has been confirmed as the villain in Ant-Man for some time, we’re yet to even catch a glimpse of Ant-Man’s nemesis. That is, until now. Appearing in a leaked image, we get a brief tease of the upcoming villain’s very own powered suit. And it looks just as awesome as we imagined.
The image (which seems to have found its way online via Twitter) depicts Corey Stoll’s Darren Cross fully suited up in his Yellowjacket costume. And while it’s clearly not an on set image, it might just give us some idea of how Yellowjacket will appear on screen.
Speaking at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Stoll already offered up some insight about Yellowjacket and how his armour might look…
“In this story, Darren Cross, who was in the comic books but was not Yellowjacket in the comic books, he has a suit that is sort of the next generation of Ant-Man’s suit,” he said. “It can do everything that Ant-Man can do, but more. It’s more badass, more militaristic, sleeker… sort of like if Apple had designed a battle suit.”
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that what we’re seeing here is the finished product. And with no context, this could be a piece of concept art that never even made it through to the final stages…
But if you ask me, it does look pretty badass.
It clearly takes some inspiration from The Wasp, even if it does ramp up the militaristic style and villainous looks. But it certainly looks a lot like a suit that could be a successor of Pym’s Ant-Man suit… and a hefty foe for Scott Lang to take on.
What do you think of Yellowjacket’s new suit? Will Corey Stoll be the awesome villain that Ant-Man needs? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
