After a rather epic tease at the end of the recent Doctor Who series eight, it looks as though Capaldi and Coleman might just join forces with Father Christmas.
Officially titled Last Christmas it looks as though nick Frost will be on hand as the not-so-mythical Santa Claus… and with Capaldi facing a rather awkward chat with his companion about whether or not he’s real, it looks as though they’re about to face off against a threat that could stop them in their tracks.
According to the official press release, Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, along with Clara Oswald, are in a bit of a pickle… and they might need a rather unusual helping hand.
“In Doctor Who, The Doctor and Clara face their Last Christmas. Trapped on an Arctic base, under attack from terrifying creatures, who are you going to call? Santa Claus!”
Of course, we’ve faced almost-fictional characters already in the last series… and now along with the adventures of Robin Hood, it looks as though the jolly Christmas figurehead will be making an appearance on the show.
But quite how the matter will be handled is a bit of a mystery.
Doctor Who is likely to be aired in a family-friendly time slot… and with all the kiddies gathered round to see The Doctor alongside Father Christmas, it makes the reality of the episode a little disconcerting.
Will they address the obvious? Or will we be left to believe only what our parents want us to?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But one thing’s for certain – Nick Frost looks brilliant as Santa Claus himself. Let’s just hope he can save Christmas!
As well as Clara and The Doctor…
