Here’s our first look at the new illustrated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
The upcoming illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets features some impressive, all-new artwork… and it looks absolutely stunning.
“Award-winning illustrator Jim Kay has been working his magic on the Harry Potter stories once again,” it was revealed via Pottermore. “And we can now give you a special glimpse inside ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated Edition’ from Bloomsbury.”
Of course, fans will already be familiar with Jim kay’s work… after all, he produced the equally brilliant Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition.
And apparently, he’ll be working his way through the entire series.
“Just when we thought the wizarding world couldn’t get more magical, Jim Kay proves us wrong once again with these simply gorgeous illustrations of the second Harry Potter story.”
But what’s new in the illustrated edition?
“The book will feature 115 new colour images, and is to be published in more than 21 languages around the world, so as many people as possible can enjoy Kay’s artwork.”
“Fans can also expect Kay’s take on the pesky, potato-headed gnomes that cause the Weasley’s endless stress at the Burrow, a beautiful illustration of a female phoenix, and an ethereal take on the towering Hogwarts castle at night. The front cover, much like the original, features Mr Weasley’s iconic flying Ford Anglia.”
It’s certainly a beautiful addition to any Harry Potter fan’s collection… and I’m sure plenty of copies will be snapped up when its released later this year.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated Edition heads to bookstores on 4 October 2016.
