A.K.A. Jessica Jones has begun principle photography… and it’s given us our first glimpse at Krysten Ritter in the role.
It’s been just two months since Krysten Ritter was cast in the role of Jessica Jones. Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones is already heading into production. And with the stars heading out on location, we get our first glimpse at the titular heroine.
Even if there’s really not much to see…
Spotted on set in New York by Newzcard, Krysten Ritter appears as Jessica Jones – a former superhero who has given up her career to become a detective who investigates super-powered crimes. But while promotion of the Daredevil has unveiled Matt Murdoch’s awesome new suit, it looks as though Jessica Jones is heading out in civvies.
Sporting casual clothes and a heavy wool coat, it looks as though we’re picking up with Jessica long after she hung up her cape. And perhaps that’s to be expected.
Using the working title Violet – probably with reference to the superhero’s usual hair colour – the Marvel production headed out to the Bronx for principle photography. And it seems the team was snapped as they began filming.
But what does this mean for Netflix’s upcoming show?
For the time being, it remains unclear. Of course, it’s likely that Ritter will appear in regular clothing considerably – considering her retirement from the superhero lifestyle.
But will we see her suit up as Jewel?
With David Tennant on board as the Purple Man, I’d bet we’ll be seeing plenty of flashbacks. But will her costume remain faithful to the comic books? We’ll have to wait and see.
