It looks as though Marvel’s Ant-Man has finally been unveiled… in a short preview of the upcoming teaser trailer.
Marvel recently released a rather amusing but incredibly annoying ant-sized preview of the upcoming Ant-Man teaser trailer. But while Marvel fans tried their best to gleam anything at all from the tiny, low-res tease, it looks as though marvel has given in and released a much more satisfying human-sized version.
Introducing Paul Rudd as Scott Lang – a petty criminal who ends up donning the Ant-Man suit, it’s just a small taste of what’s to come. And while this cool new tease might get the fans talking, it manages to tell us, well… very little.
A slow-mo shot of Lang side-by-side with a police escort cuts directly to a wider angle of Hank Pym’s famous laboratory. But perhaps the shot of Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne is the most telling as she dons The Wasp’s famous hairdo.
Of course, there’s not much else to see. Some establishing shots of inside Pym’s lab are cut together with some presumably nefarious heavies… and as we watch Scott Lang getting into a prison scrape with another inmate, we’re left to our own conclusions when it comes to him sparring with the young Van Dyne girl.
Naturally, we’re given another quick glimpse of the Ant-Man suit… but again, nothing much is given away. But is that such a bad thing?
We’ve seen numerous pieces of promotional art over the last week or so, and with past concept designs and Edgar Wright’s test shots, we’re already building up quite a picture of the Ant-Man suit.
Quite how it translates on screen remains to be seen. But despite Wright’s departure, I have to admit – I have high hopes for this movie.
Let’s just hope that the box office figures are far bigger than the hero himself.
