It’s official – the first image from the upcoming Warcraft movie has appeared online… and it shines a spotlight on the Horde warchief, Orgrim Doomhammer.
It’s no secret that Warcraft’ will focus on a time period long before the events of the MMO, World of Warcraft. Depicting legendary characters such as King Llane Wrynn, Medivh the Mage and even Khadgar himself, it’s set to be an awesome film that will introduce the world to the Warcraft universe.
And now we’ve got our first glimpse of the formidable Orc boss, Orgrim.
The legendary figurehead is present throughout the World of Warcraft – with the orcish capital of Orgrimmar and the battleship Orgrim’s Hammer named after him. Played by Rob Kazinski, the formidable horde chief will play an important part in the Warcraft movie.
And here he is, in all his formidable glory.

Of course, many UK fans will remember Rob Kazinski from his stint on Eastenders.
But in the upcoming Warcraft movie, he couldn’t be more different.
“We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humor, and the toughness of this character,” said director Duncan Jones. And it seems they found all that in Kazinski.
Obviously, his Warcraft likeness is all down to some hefty CGI… and was created by the experts at Industrial Light and Magic. Based on concept art from the video game designers, Blizzard, the team created this rather awesome version of the iconic Orc – merging the image with photographs of Kazinski to provide a more realistic feel.
“We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies,” said Duncan Jones. “We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.”
Of course, we can’t wait to see what else Warcraft has in store… and if Orgrim is anything to go by, it looks as though the visual standard of this movie is top notch.
Let’s just hope they get the rest of the cast as perfect as Orgrim.
Warcraft heads to cinemas on 10 June 2016.
