Star Wars veteran Han Solo may be the first to get his own spin-off movie… and Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is rumoured to be up for a role.
It’s no secret that a number of Star Wars spin-offs will be heading our way in the coming years. But with almost no information about these new chapters in the galaxy far, far away, we have no idea what to expect.
Of course, we’ve heard plenty of rumours… and while a Han Solo movie may seem like the obvious choice, it could be exactly what we’ll get.
According to Making Star Wars, the first Star Wars spin-off is already on the horizon… and it’s rumoured to revolve around Han Solo.
“A code name for the production is: Luminac Industrial Goods,” they reveal. “[Our source goes] on to say there’s going to be a really interesting situation at Pinewood Studios. The filming will eventually overlap with some of Star Wars: Episode VIII. Who are they hearing the film is about? Han Solo.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Han Solo has been rumoured to be first in line for his very own spin-off movie. In fact, he was one of the first names assumed to be at the very top of the list.
But is this really going to happen?
Over the last few months, we’ve heard plenty of rumours about the impending spin-off movies, ranging from Obi-Wan solo films to Dirty Dozen style mercenary flicks. But if you ask me, a Han Solo spin-off makes the most sense.
He’s one of the most iconic characters of the original trilogy… and it’s safe to say that everyone was excited upon seeing the Millennium Falcon in the recent Star Wars teaser.
But with rumours that Solo will be a lot younger in the new movie, who could they get to play him?
“[Our source] went on to say the word around the current production at Pinewood is that Aaron Paul is looking to be attached to the first Star Wars spin-off film in some fashion,” they explained. “There was no direct implication he was playing Han Solo.”
Will Aaron Paul go on to be names as the young Han Solo? For now, we have no idea. But either way, it’s a very interesting choice. And after his performance in ‘Breaking Bad’ I can really see him travelling the galaxy dealing in spice and whatever else he can smuggle.
Let’s just hope the rumours are true.
