After appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier it looks as though Frank Grillo could be back for Civil War.
It’s no secret that Frank Grillo made a rather cool appearance as Brock Rumlow – aka Crossbones – in The Winter Soldier. And while fans have been desperate to see him return, it looks as though their wish may have been granted…
Appearing on Twitter, the 49-year-old Marvel villain hinted that he may return in the upcoming Civil War… but what part will he play?
“A #civil-war is on the horizon,” he said. “And it’s gonna be a free for all.”
Of course, Crossbones is instrumental to Marvel’s comic book Civil War… and in the epilogue The Death of Captain America it’s Crossbones himself who assassinates Steve Rogers. But little does he know it’s not actually he who delivers the killing blow.
But could this be Crossbones’ role in Captain America: Civil War?
Following Rumlow’s little run-in with Captain America during the events of The Winter Soldier, it’s entirely possible to see him looking for revenge… and that could be how he fits into the events of ‘Civil War’.
But for now, we’ll have to wait and see. Either way, it looks as though Frank Grillo will return.
But will he be wearing the iconic skull mask?
Over the past few years, we’ve seen plenty of heroes and villains lifted from the pages of the comic books to appear in the Marvel movies… but they don’t always line up with their comic book counterparts. Just look at The Mandarin…
Will Frank Grillo don the iconic costume? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But I’m not holding my breath.
How do you think Crossbones will fit into Captain America: Civil War? Will he get to wear the iconic skull mask? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
