After months of waiting, British Gotham fans finally get an official air date… and it looks as though the new DC television show will premiere on 13 October, 2014.
Heading to Channel 5, the new pre-Batman TV show focusses on Gotham City before the Dark Knight turned up… and promises a sneaky glimpse at some of our favourite DC villains before they made a name for themselves.
The folks at Channel 5 revealed that Gotham will finally premiere on 13 October at 9pm… and while the US fans are eagerly awaiting their third episode, it’s time we got our first look at the young Detective Jim Gordon. And an even younger Bruce Wayne.
Gotham follows the exploits of a young Commissioner Gordon – back then, Detective Jim Gordon. Played by Ben McKenzie, the young detective strives to clean up his crooked city. But can he really make a difference?
Featuring David Mazouz as young Bruce Wayne, and Robin lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, it’s a look back at a time in Gotham City when crime ran rampant… at least, more rampant than when Batman was around.
Reactions so far have been incredibly positive, and it’s thought that Gotham could be the big hit that Fox and DC were hoping for. But how will it be received in the UK? I can’t help thinking that heading to Channel 5 may have been a bit of a mistake… but I’ll definitely be tuning in on the 13th.
