After Nick lost his powers, last week’s Grimm revealed that Juliette is vital to curing him… but what does she have to do? And will she be able to go through with it?
Monroe and the gang try to tread lightly, and explain to Nick and Juliette that she has to do everything Adalind did to Nick in order to reverse the spell. “Not so bad right?”.
Wrong – the couple are horrified to learn that the potion will transform Juliette – making her take on Adalind’s form. Essentially, this means that Nick has to make love to Adalind again to get his powers back. Naturally the couple are apprehensive and need some time to think it over. But Elizabeth puts the pressure on by claiming there may be unintended side effects… and they’ll only get worse.
Of course, Juliette remains apprehensive about returning to Nick’s Grimm lifestyle… and that’s rather disappointing. After all, you’d think she’d learn to go with it by now?
However, an unexpected visit from Bud might just change her mind.
Putting Nick’s nose firmly out of joint, Bud asks to speak with Trubel about a Wesen problem. Convinced Trubel can handle things, Nick leaves the two alone. But then Bud confesses his true problem… it turns out he couldn’t keep Nick’s secret after all!
Word is out that Nick is no longer a Grimm. Bud explains to Trubel that a Wesen called Shaw has threatened to teach Nick a lesson now he’s lost his powers. However, Juliette is eavesdropping on the stairs. Will this threat to Nick’s life be enough to convince her to help?
Trubel doesn’t take the threat lightly, and immediately sets off to teach Shaw a lesson of her own. Assisted by Bud, she finds Shaw and totally kicks his ass (in classic Trubel style). With a Machete to his throat, Shaw agrees to leave Nick alone… but Trubel isn’t convinced he’ll be the only bad Wesen queuing up to get a piece of Nick.
Could Nick really be in grave danger if he stays de-Grimmed?
Elsewhere, Adalind is continuing her ludicrous wander around the castle in Vienna. Her hallucinations continue as she is set a task, rather like Pans Labyrinth, to walk through the room without being distracted. Obviously, the gullible Adalind falls for the distraction. But honestly who can blame her? Any mother who has had their child abducted would be just as desperate.
In any case, this highlights just how vulnerable she is as she is sent hurtling back to her cell. Viktor clearly chooses his moment, as a desperate and exhausted Adalind agrees to do anything for him to end her torment. I’d almost feel sorry for her if I didn’t know better…
Back in Portland, a newly married couple are having troubles. Ava is being haunted by a man in a dapper suit with a wolf head. He is literally everywhere she turns. Freaked out and already medicated to the eyeballs because of the visions, she takes off in her car. But in her delusional state, she kills a pedestrian and crashes into a tree.
After seeing Ava’s sketches, Nick suspects Wesen and asks Monroe to check things out. He identifies the Wesen as a Luison and heads to Ava’s place to confirm his suspicions. He discovers that Ava’s husband Gabriel has a dark secret, not only is he a Luison, he also has three identical brothers!
The quadruplets have been tricking poor Ava in an attempt to drive her insane and get their paws on her millions. Clearly they didn’t factor in team Grimm. With the help of a very impressive mask, Nick, Hank and Monroe confront the Gabriel’s and convince Ava they have been tricking her with the mask. It seems the Wesen secret is safe for another day and the bad Wesen are behind bars.
Meanwhile, all is not well for Josh Porter. He returns home to his father’s house (a now deceased Grimm), to find it’s been trashed by Hundjagers who are still on the scene. Fleeing for his life he calls Nick and tells him they’re after the key.
Josh’s farther Rolek had already trusted the key to Nick, so could this spell future trouble for the reluctant Grimm? After all, the keys are an important element of the Grimm story… when all seven are put together they reveal a map to an unknown, but hugely powerful treasure.
It all points to how vital it is that Nick gets his powers back quickly, Trubel won’t be able to take on the Verrat alone and the Royals can’t be allowed to get their power crazy hands on the treasure.
At the precinct, Renard confronts Nick about Trubel and tells him he knows she’s a Grimm. Thankfully, he appreciates that she saved his life, so won’t be hassling her. But he also tells Nick he needs to do something about Wu… but what?
Renard seems to be having a ‘coming clean’ episode, as he also reveals to Elizabeth who has her granddaughter. She vows she’ll find Kelly Burkhart and I can’t wait! The pair will be an awesome match, and there’s sure to be a spectacular Grimm versus Hexenbiest battle before the guardian of baby Diana is decided.
The episode ends with a dramatic scene outside Monroe and Rosalee’s place, when they find a burning Wolfsangel on their lawn… but this time Nick and Juliette are there too. The threat to their friends seems to be the icing on the cake, as Juliette demands; “You need to be a Grimm again”.
What do you think Grimmsters? Has Juliette finally seen sense? Will she take the potion to help her friends? Let us know in the comments below…
