Heroes Reborn will see another classic character return as Masi Oka is set to reprise the role of fan favourite, Hiro Nakamura.
It’s the series Heroes fans have been waiting for – Heroes Reborn will bring the awesome comic book TV show back to our screens. And with Jack Coleman returning as Noah Bennet, it’s a welcome return for our favourite heroes. But who will be joining him?
It’s none other than Hiro Nakamura.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, original Heroes star Masi Oka will reprise the role of Hiro Nakamura for the upcoming Heroes Reborn.
“Heroes alum Masi Oka is returning for the network’s sequel,” they revealed. “Oka will reprise his Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated role as Hiro Nakamura for a guest-starring arc on Heroes Reborn, becoming the second original cast member to return for Reborn. He joins original star Jack Coleman as well as newcomers to the franchise.”
Of course, the key here is that it’s (sadly) just a guest-starring role… so while Hiro could prove to be an important part of the new series, he certainly won’t be getting a huge amount of screen time.
“NBC announced the 13-episode Heroes Reborn last year for a fall 2015 debut. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the limited series from Heroes creator Tim Kring will be a follow-up with a new story and set of characters, though sources tell THR it’s rumored to take place after the events of the original.”
Unfortunately, details of the new series remain a bit of a mystery… and all we’ve seen so far is a rather vague teaser trailer. But what we do know is that there’s a brand new cast, which includes Zachary Levi, Ryan Guzman, Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Henry Zebrowski and Gatlin Green.
Will any of these new heroes match the might of Hiro Nakamura? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But it’s an exciting new chapter in the ‘Heroes’ series.
