Iron Fist stars Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick want a second series…
And there’s a pretty good reason for that.
During an interview in New York, we met with the cast of Iron Fist, who explained why they want a second season… and after Season One, it’s a compelling thought.
“It would be good to get Iron Fist Season Two,” said Jessica Henwick. “Because there are two characters who come into the second half of Iron Fist Season One who haven’t been announced yet. It’s so frustrating! Because they knock it out the park.”
“But there’s one in particular who fans are going to be… it’s a comic book character who’s not been seen before and at the end of Iron Fist, they set him up in a really interesting way for Iron Fist Season Two. I think, for me, that’s the most interesting relationship on the show.”
Who exactly is she talking about? It has to be Davos.

During the interview (which was conducted before the show first appeared on Netflix) they strongly hinted towards the Steel Serpent’s appearance on the show… and now we’ve seen the series in full, we know that’s left on a bit of a cliffhanger.
The show introduces Davos (aka the Steel Serpent) as one of Danny’s friends from K’un-Lun. He’s obviously a bit of a hell raiser, and it’s explained that the two used to sneak away from training for a bit of R and R.
Clearly, they were close.
But after Danny became the Iron Fist (and subsequently left K’un-Lun) it’s clear that Davos holds a grudge. In the comic books, he’s jealous that Danny was chosen to wield the power instead of him… and you can see those cracks start to appear on the TV show.
And by the end of the season, he’s offering to help Joy Meachum kill Danny.

“I think there’s so much more in Danny’s personal journey that needs to be told,” said Finn Jones. “It’s not until the end of The Defenders that Danny fully becomes the Iron Fist. And so really, there’s a lot… Danny is a character that started as a young man and there’s so much more to him.”
Obviously, there’s a lot more to Danny and Davos’ relationship, too.
But will we get Iron Fist Season Two to see how that plays out?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
