Jason Momoa Promises ‘Badass’ Aquaman

After landing the role of Aquaman, it looks as though Jason Momoa might appear in the upcoming Batman V Superman. But what can we expect?

Jason Momoa may suuit up as Aquaman.

After landing the role of Aquaman, it looks as though Jason Momoa might appear in the upcoming Batman V Superman. But what can we expect?

Ever since Jason Momoa was announced as DC’s big screen Aquaman, we’ve heard rumours of his appearance in the upcoming Batman V Superman. And while it’s starting to feel a bit crowded with appearances from Wonder Woman (amongst others) we can’t wait to see how Arthur Currie looks on the big screen.

But what can we expect from Momoa’s Aquaman? One word – Badass.

Mark Hamill Cast As Trickster In The Flash

During an appearance at CCPX in Sau Paulo, the upcoming Aquaman star gave us a hint towards what the new King of Atlantis might be like.

“Aquaman will be a bad-ass,” he said, according to DCU Movie Page. “Otherwise, they wouldn’t cast me for the role.”

Of course, the 35-year-old actor is perhaps best known for his hulking stature… and that’s bound to be no coincidence. But could this mean a grittier Aquaman, such as the New 52 version of the character? I think we can safely say that we’re unlikely to see him with any pink seahorses…

Of course DCU Movie Page were on hand for the rest of Momoa’s Q&A, and managed to gleam some other interesting bits and pieces.

For one thing, it looks as though Aquaman himself is keen to see Zack Snyder direct his first solo outing… and with Snyder’s obsession with the body beautiful, I can’t help thinking that might be a foregone conclusion.

After all, Momoa is obviously keen to get stuck in and Snyder sure likes pushing his leading men when it comes to hitting the gym. But could there be a bit of a scheduling conflict? Just looking at DC’s recently announced slate, it looks as though Aquaman lands smack bang in the middle of the two Justice League movies.

So, perhaps Snyder will already be a bit busy.

Of course, Momoa also admitted that he’d been cast as Aquaman for some time, and had been contractually forced to keep quiet. But after rumours and near admissions that he’d landed the role, I’d say he only just managed to get away with it.

But the big question remains – will he appear in Batman V Superman?

Batman V Superman Villains Revealed?

Unfortunately, he remained tight-lipped on the subject… and I can’t help thinking it’ll be some time before we find out. But either way, I can’t wait to see Momoa pick up that trident.

Aquaman heads to cinemas on 27 July 2018.

What do you think of Jason Momoa’s comments? Will he make a badass Aquaman? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
