After Ghostbusters 3 was confirmed to be courting an all-female cast, it looks as though Jennifer Lawrence could be in the running for a starring role…
She’s perhaps one of the hottest actresses in the world right now – Jennifer Lawrence continues to take the world by storm after The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part One. But could we see her appear as one of the first female Ghostbusters in the upcoming paranormal sequel?
During an interview with MTV News, the 24-year-old actress was asked who she’d like to see in the new Ghostbusters movie… but revealed a bit more than anyone was expecting.
“I actually met the director,” she revealed. “I had dinner with him… yea, I sure did.”
Of course, she quickly brushed that under the carpet and neglected to mention whether or not that meeting had resulted in any serious talks for a role. But it certainly looks as though she’s in with a chance of landing a part. That is, if both parties are still interested.
But that’s not all… it looks as though Rebel Wilson may also be in the mix.
Speaking to Today, Wilson confirmed that she too has met with the Ghostbusters 3 director.
“I have had a meeting,” she said. “But who knows? They will have to look at the script when it’s finished.”
Obviously, Rebel Wilson is a more obvious choice when it comes to the Ghostbusters sequel. After all, she’s already worked with director Paul Feig on Bridesmaids. But could this mean she’s first in line for a role in Ghostbusters 3?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see… and with hints that the script still hasn’t been completed, it might be some time before we find out.
