Those rumours of another Indiana Jones movie were right all along… as Kathleen Kennedy confirms we’ll see another whip-cracking sequel.
During an interview with Vanity Fair, the Lucasfilm president admitted that another Indiana Jones is still on the cards… but the timeframe remains a bit of mystery.
“[Another Indiana Jones film] will one day be made inside this company,” she said. “When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
Of course, this will come as no surprise to those following the rumours… after all, we’ve heard plenty of speculation about who might star as Indiana Jones. And many speculate that Harrison Ford could eventually hand over the iconic fedora to Chris Pratt.
But when will this new movie happen?
“We haven’t done anything,” said Disney chairman Alan Horn in an interview with Variety. “We don’t have a story. We need a story.”
Have things changed much since then? For now, we’re not really sure. There’s still no active development on the highly-anticipated Indiana Jones movie, and it looks as though Disney is still no closer to beginning production.
And they still haven’t even gotten a script.
Still, this is all rather promising… and with rumours that Harrison Ford’s Star Wars contract may have included another Indiana Jones film, we could yet see the original adventuring archaeologist head off on another relic hunt.
Either way, it sounds as though an ‘Indiana Jones’ movie is inevitable.
And that’s great news.
