It’s official – the new Underworld movie now has a title.
Underworld: Blood Wars sees the return of the successful Underworld franchise… with iconic British starlet Kate Beckinsale returning to the role of Selene. And while we’ve heard about the upcoming sequel for some time, it seems the ball is finally rolling.
And the new title sounds rather ominous…
Underworld: Blood Wars marks the return of Lakeshore Entertainment and Screen Gem’s fading Underworld series. And while the original movie created quite a stir (as well as a healthy profit at the box office), more recent instalments have been somewhat… lacking.
But could Blood Wars turn that around?

The upcoming sequel stars Kate Beckinsale as the deadly Death Dealer, Selene. And she’s not the only one returning – Blood Wars will see Theo James and Charles Dance returning.
Additional cast members include Tobias Menzies (Outlander), and Lara Pulver (Sherlock).
According to reports, Tobias Menzes will be starring as the new leader of the Lycans – the formidable werewolf race from the movie… and Lara Pulver will appear as one of the new vampires.
But what’s Underworld: Blood Wars all about?
There’s been little in the way of an official synopsis, despite the fact that filming has already wrapped and the movie hits cinemas later this year… but it’s thought to revolve around the next generation in the secret war between vampire and lycans.
And the deadly Selene will likely be training some new Death Dealers.
Anna Foerster will direct based on a script from Cory Goodman.
Underworld: Blood Wars heads to cinemas on 14 October 2016.
