It looks as though Ant-Man has finally unveiled its villain… as new artwork shines a spotlight on the villainous Yellowjacket.
Ant-Man is one of the most anticipated comic book movies of 2015… if not always for the right reasons. But while we eagerly wait to see if it’s as good as we hoped, it looks as though we finally get a glimpse at the movie’s villain. And Yellowjacket looks about as badass as we thought…
Appearing on the website of Aykroyd & Sons (via CBM) – a company which designs and manufactures character garments in the UK – a new banner shows off both Ant-Man as well as the rather cool Yellowjacket.
Of course, this is just some promotional artwork that ties into the movie… but it gives us our first confirmation that the recently-leaked Yellowjacket concept art was right on the money. And it gives us a closer look at the villain’s rather awesome suit.
Clearly inspired by the powers and look of Marvel’s Wasp, it looks as though Yellowjacket has come a long way from being another of Hank Pym’s alter egos.
Way back in the comic books, the original Ant-Man (otherwise known as Hank Pym) went by several different superhero names… one of which was Yellowjacket. Possessing similar size-altering abilities to Ant-Man, he was also equipped with a Bio-energy sting and even the power of flight, using specially grafted wings.
But the movie version seems to be a long way off…
Assumed to be the main villain of Ant-Man, he’s rumoured to be played by Corey Stoll. And as a former protégé of Hank Pym, it seems he’ll stop at nothing to acquire the Ant-Man suit… as well as Pym’s patented particles.
But when will we get a closer look?
It’s already rumoured that we’ll be seeing the first Ant-Man trailer as early as next week… and that would be the perfect time to unveil the main villain. But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
