The Predator is getting serious as it adds the legendary Edward James Olmos.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 70-year-old sci-fi veteran Edward James Olmos has landed a role in the upcoming Predator reboot. And that’s awesome news.
“Edward James Olmos is suiting up for The Predator, Shane Black’s reboot of 20th Century Fox’s sci-fi action franchise,” they revealed. “The movie is shooting in Vancouver with Boyd Holbrook leading a cast that also includes Room breakout Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski and Olivia Munn.”
Edward James Olmos is perhaps best known as Rear Admiral William Adama from the hit re-imagined sci-fi series, Battlestar Galactica. But my personal favourite – he played Gaff in the epic sci-fi flick, Blade Runner.
Now, it looks as though he’s set to take on The Predator.
What’s his role? It looks as though we have some small idea…
“Olmos will play a military character,” they reveal… but unfortunately, there are no further details. Quite what that means, then is left to the imagination. At least, for now. But I can’t help wondering whether we’ll see Olmos suiting up as a top rank officer in charge of military operations throughout the movie.

“The movie once again features unsuspecting humans who slowly realize that fierce hunter-aliens are in their midst, this time in a suburban setting.”
The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Jane, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski and Olivia Munn.
Shane Black is directing, based on a script her co-wrote with Fred Dekker.
The Predator heads to cinemas on 16 February 2018.
