Samuel L. Jackson Only Has Two Marvel Movies Left

Nick Fury may bow out of the MCU.

Nick Fury fans could be in for a surprise, as Samuel L. Jackson reveals how many Marvel movies he has left… and it’s really not that many.

During an interview with IGN, the 66-year-old former S.H.I.E.L.D. director revealed that he’s only contracted for another two Marvel movies.

“I’ve only got two more movies in my contract,” he said. “That might be the end of it unless I get an extension!”

But would Marvel Studios really let him go?

At the moment, I’m not so sure… after all, the former head honcho of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t exactly been doing much since he was ousted during the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. That’s not to say that Nick Fury isn’t pulling strings behind the scenes, but he’s certainly not had much of a public presence.

Could all that be about to change? Well, it’s likely that we’ll see him again in Civil War and perhaps recruiting new heroes in the upcoming Marvel Phase Three. But is there really much else for him to do?

Either way, it looks as though Samuel L. Jackson is as loyal as ever… and has even remarked on why he thinks Marvel are a step ahead of DC.

“The universe is huge,” he told MTV News. “I don’t know how many thousands of characters there are in the Marvel universe that they can access and use… I think Marvel has figured out a way to make those movies accessible to the public that DC hasn’t. I don’t know what that is – I don’t know why you can’t get Batman and Superman or people as juiced up to be part of that.”

But what does Samuel L. Jackson think about continuing on as Nick Fury?

“I’m totally cool doing Nick Fury as long as they keep writing him in these films,” he said. So it looks as though marvel will have no problem extending Jackson’s contract. That is, if they want to.

Still, I can hardly imagine an MCU without Nick Fury. Can you?

Do you think Samuel L. Jackson will get to extend his contract? Will we ever see Nick Fury get his own solo film? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
