Boba Fett may be getting his own movie after all, as the legendary bounty hunter is rumoured to be the focus of a Star Wars spin-off.
Ever since the Star Wars spin-off movies were first announced, we’ve heard rumours of a Boba Fett solo film. Arguably one of the coolest characters in the galaxy far, far away, this mysterious mercenary has a reputation for not saying much… and that makes him perfect for his very own solo film.
And now it seems that might actually happen.
According to The Wrap, Lucasfilm’s second Star Wars anthology film will focus on Boba Fett… and that’s hardly surprising.
“The next Star Wars anthology movie due in 2018 that recently lost director Josh Trank will be a Boba Fett origin story,” they said, “confirming one of many rumors that have appeared online in the last several months.”
Of course, it’s no secret that a Boba Fett movie has been rumoured for a long time… and so perhaps this latest rumour comes as little surprise. After all, Boba Fett was also rumoured to be the subject of the first Star Wars spin-off which has since been revealed to focus on the Rebel Alliance’s attempts to steal the Death Star plans.
But does this mean a Boba Fett film is definitely happening?
If you ask me, it’s still little more than rumour-mill chatter.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that it won’t be a Boba Fett movie – considering the amount of rumours springing up around the character, it’s likely that Disney and Lucasfilm have paid a lot of attention to the character’s popularity.
But if you ask me, this is little more than an educated guess. And for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
