BBC’s Sherlock Series 4 has begun filming.
Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss has teased an image from the upcoming Series 4 set… and it looks as though Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will be teaming up a lot sooner than we though.
But when will Sherlock be back on our screens?
The rather ominous tweet was posted online just yesterday… and so it looks as though the cast and crew will be heading back to Baker Street a little sooner than we thought. After all, the instantly recognisable skull has been a resident of 221B for quite some time.
But don’t get your hopes up for a 2016 air date.
Sherlock has traditionally had quite a long production turnaround, with some estimating that we won’t see the latest series until sometime in 2017 – at least, according to previous series schedules.
And with Benedict Cumberbatch now starring as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, this could be even longer.
After all, it’s unknown how his big screen stint will affect the Sherlock schedule.
“No that is not series four, that is a fan waiting for series four,” quipped one fan in response to the picture. And it looks as though fans are on the edge of their seats already.
Of course, this also means that the Sherlock cast and crew will likely be heading out for some location filming in the coming months… We’ll keep you posted when we uncover any more details.
After all, they might even head back to the streets of Cardiff.
But for now, it looks as though we still have a bit of a wait ahead.
Sherlock series 4 will likely debut sometime in 2017.
