There’s three new posters for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
But what do they tell us about Spider-Man’s latest solo outing?
The webtastic new posters were unveiled via Twitter, and feature Spider-Man in a variety of actiony poses… with one exception. Chilling out on a riverbank with a pair of headphones, it looks as though Spidey is spotted getting some downtime.
An interesting shot for one of the movie’s first posters… and it actually tells us quite a bit.
“Homework can wait,” reads the poster’s caption. “The city can’t.”
So what’s that all about? Well, it looks as though Peter Parker is having a tough time balancing school and being a superhero… as you can see from his blazer. The bright yellow jacket is emblazoned with the Midtown School of Science & Technology logo.
Clearly, that’s going to play a big part in Spider-Man’s story.
After all, marvel has already stated time and time again that Spider-Man’s new solo movie will bring him back to High School… and that means heading back to the classroom for poor old Peter Parker. Not to mention all the teenage trials and tribulations that go along with it.
A second poster depicts Spider-Man clinging to the side of Avengers Tower – specifically, hanging onto the enormous ‘A’ on the side of the building. “Straight A Superhero,” reads the caption – a nice nod to Spider-Man’s future involvement with The Avengers… as well as Iron Man’s appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The third and final poster shows Spider-Man clinging to the road sign for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. “Quickest way to get home,” reads the caption.
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, alongside Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, Bokeem Woodbine, and Michael Keaton.
Jon Watts directed the film based on a script he co-wrote with John Francis Daley, Christopher Ford, Jonathan Goldstein, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Spider-Man: Homecoming heads to cinemas on 7 July 2017.
