It’s official – Star Wars VII has released another new teaser trailer… and this time, we get a ton of new footage as well as a familiar-looking pose from Han and Chewie.
The impressive trailer was released during Star Wars Celebration – an official Star Wars fan event currently taking place in Anaheim, California. Of course, the trailer was soon released online for everyone to enjoy… and if you ask me, it’s absolutely mind-blowing.
Although the desert planet has been revealed not to be Tattooine, but a new planet called Jakku, we’re instantly transported to the galaxy far, far away with images that evoke the original trilogy.
But as you’ll see, something isn’t quite right…
It’s not long before we find an entire Star Destroyer crashed into the planet surface. A remnant of the old Empire and a battle that has long since ceased. But the struggle between good and evil rages on.
Of course, this new teaser trailer is packed full of incredible images.
We’re treated to a closer look at Daisy Ridley’s character Rey, as well as John Boyega’s stormtrooper, Finn. And with Luke Skywalker providing an ominous voiceover, it looks as though at least one cast member will be of the Skywalker family tree.
“The Force is strong in my family,” he says. “My father has it, I have it, my sister has it… you have that power too.”
But which character will be strong with the Force?
Of course, that’s not all… and after pawing over those leaked images, we finally get a proper look at the film’s villain, Kylo Ren. And he looks just as awesome as we hoped. Revealing a good look at his full mask, the Star Wars VII villain has a certain Revan feel about him.
And that’s likely no coincidence.
Said to be a collector of Sith relics, it’s easy to see why he might fashion his own armour in the style of iconic villains. But for a proper look at his motives, we’ll have to wait and see.
All-in-all, the new Star Wars VII trailer was packed full of new shots, and while it didn’t really give much away, it’s certainly got us all excited for the film’s release.
And that’s exactly the point.
Teasing the return of Han and Chewie at the very end, it looks as though we’ll have to wait for more from the original cast. But it’s already looking like Star Wars VII might just live up to the hype.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens heads to cinemas on 18 December 2015.
