Star Wars VII Millennium Falcon and X-Wings Set Photos

Star Wars VII Millennium Falcon

After rumours of a full-size Millennium Falcon were confirmed, it seems we’ve got another candid look at these impressive set pieces… and even a few X-Wings.

That’s right folks – it’s been another batch of Star Wars set leaks after a series of photos from a British photographer appeared on Spanish website, 20minutos. And this time, they offer a rather impressive look at the Star Wars VII starships… including some all-new X-Wings and even the Millennium Falcon. And it looks as though it’s had a bit of an upgrade.

Although the Millennium Falcon here is only half-built, it gives us an impressively clear image of what we can expect of the fastest ship in the galaxy. Featuring that familiar design, it’s clear that Abrams is focussed on bringing back the charm of the original… but perhaps with a little twist of his own.

It might not be visible from the larger photograph, but you can see in the smaller images that the Millennium Falcon’s radar dish has had a small upgrade – switching from the traditional circular dish to a more prominent, rectangular design.

And that’s not all… there are a number of new-design X-Wings dotted around what look to be outdoor hangar-style emplacements. Along with plenty of ducts and doohickeys, it gives the entire area the look of a rebel flight base. And it seems that’s the point.

Unfortunately, most of the new vehicles are obscured with tarps and sheets. But it’s still probably the best look at the ‘Star Wars VII’ vehicles we’ve seen so far.

We should probably note that the original photographer claims that these were taken ‘accidentally’ while an employee from a nearby aviation club was out performing simulations with a drone… yea, right.

Star Wars VII’s Millennium Falcon Close-Up

Still, it’s turned up some excellent photos of the Star Wars VII set. And isn’t it looking great?

What do you think of these behind-the-scenes Star Wars photos? Do you think the new set-design captures the look of the original trilogy? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
