Star Wars VII Trailer Arrives This Friday?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Although it was recently rumoured that we’d see our first Star Wars VII trailer attached to The Hobbit, it looks as though we may get a glimpse much sooner than we thought…

Ever since Star Wars: The Force Awakens was first announced, we’ve been wondering when we’ll get our first glimpse at the galaxy far, far away. But while rumours linked a first trailer to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies it looks as though we might just get an early look at Star Wars VII by 28 November.

Noel Clarke Denies Star Wars VII Rumours

According to an (unsubstantiated) report on Reddit, the upcoming Star Wars VII trailer will debut next weekend…

“Looks like they are going to release it attached to most if not all films in select theaters,” the user claimed. “Not sure how wide it will go but this is at least good news… The source is an internal e-mail, sadly I can’t post that.”

According to the claim, Disney has struck an agreement for 100 cinemas across the USA to run a showing of Big Hero 6 as the earliest show time on that particular day… and for our American friends, that’s how you may be able to spot the participating cinemas.

But while claims of this nature are often dismissed, it already seems to have gained a little weight. After all, the folks at Slashfilm seem certain that this is what will happen.

“I have independently heard from very good sources that the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer will be shown in a limited number of theaters during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend,” said Peter Sciretta. “If I had not been told [this] information… I would have completely written the reddit report off as fan-written bulls**t — but it’s very possible this is THE PLAN.”

Obviously, a single trailer playing in front of every movie throughout the Thanksgiving weekend is unprecedented… and it might just be the kind of publicity stunt that Disney will be looking towards. But unfortunately, the report remains unconfirmed.

Star Wars VII Trailer Description Leaked

Could the trailer appear this weekend? It’s certainly possible… and while the Reddit scooper may have gotten some details wrong, we may still see our first glimpse of Star Wars VII by Friday.

But perhaps the important detail to take away is this – if it happens as suggested, then the Star Wars VII trailer will debut in cinemas rather than online. And in this increasingly digital age, that’s something rather special.

Do you think we’ll see a Star Wars VII trailer this week? Or will we have a longer wait ahead of us? Let us know in the comments below…
