Although SPECTRE recently announced its cast, it looks as though there’s another Bond girl in the mix… as Stephanie Sigman lands a mystery role.
The latest Bond movie may have nabbed both Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux, but it seems the girls are not enough… as SPECTRE casts Mexican actress, Stephanie Sigman. But what can we expect from the latest lady to join the cast?
For now, her role remains a bit of a secret.
Unveiled via the official 007 Twitter account, the 28-year-old Mexican actress will join the upcoming Bond movie, SPECTRE in a mystery role.
“Stephanie Sigman will join Daniel Craig in the next James Bond movie Spectre,” said The Wrap. “The actress will play a mysterious woman named Estrella alongside Daniel Craig and Christoph Waltz… and chances are likely that she’s a femme fatale of some kind.”
Of course, Stephanie Sigman is perhaps best known for her role in The Bridge – an American crime drama following the joint investigation of a serial killer. But she’s also starred in a number of big screen projects – most notably, Gerardo Naranjo’s Miss Bala.
But who will she play in SPECTRE?
For now, that remains a bit of a mystery. But with the recent SPECTRE cast announcement, it seems she’ll be amongst great company. That is, if she gets the chance to shine. After all, it was revealed that both Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux had landed roles in the upcoming movie. Is there really room for another Bond girl?
I suppose that depends on the depth of her character and how she fits into the wider story… but for the time being, all that remains firmly under wraps.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating… and given the character’s name – Estrella – it sounds as though the 28-year-old Mexican actress could be playing a femme fatale.
Entirely plausible… but obviously, unconfirmed.
Stephanie Sigman joins Daniel Craig along with a rather impressive supporting cast. Dave Bautista, Christoph Waltz, Monica Belluci, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Ralph Fiennes will appear in SPECTRE.
But will Sigman get the chance to seduce 007? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
SPECTRE heads to cinemas on 23 October 2015.
