Suicide Squad: Killer Croc Revealed

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is currently filming Suicide Squad.

17th May 2015 by Ryan Leston

Killer Croc Suicide Squad

It seems we’ve finally got a good look at Suicide Squad member, Killer Croc as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje appears on set.

Appearing all over Twitter thanks to Toronto blogger Thalia Worldwide, the first behind-the-scenes image of DC villain Killer Croc has been unveiled, providing a much closer look.

And he looks pretty impressive.

Of course, we’ve already seen Killer Croc appear alongside fellow Belle Reve inmates after director David Ayer released the official line up. But this is the first time we’ve got a closer look at Croc’s reptilian body… and the makeup team have done one hell of a job.

But does this tell us anything about Killer Croc?

Judging from his overall look, I’d say that Suicide Squad director David Ayer is going for a far more human look than the recent comic books. Certainly, it’s more in line with his earlier appearances.

Suffering from a form of Atavism, Killer Croc exhibits physical traits more commonly associated with crocodiles… and that includes great physical strength as well as a scaled body which is impenetrable even to high calibre weapons.

And he’s even shown the ability to regenerate lost limbs with a heightened healing ability.

But David Ayer’s version seems a bit more grounded…

Constantine Officially Axed By NBC

For one thing, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s look is a lot more human… and I can’t help thinking that this will mean a far more subtle form of Croc’s mutation/powers. After all, his abilities are strongest in depictions where Croc is more animalistic. And the current ‘Suicide Squad’ version retains at least a certain human characteristic.

But will he grow more lizard-like as time goes on? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Suicide Squad heads to cinemas on 5 August 2016.

What do you think of Killer Croc’s look? Are you looking forward to the upcoming Suicide Squad movie? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
