We’ve finally got our first look at the Suicide Squad as director David Ayer reveals a rather cool image with the Squad in costume.
It’s been a long time coming – our first official look at DC’s Suicide Squad. And while we’ve seen a few leaked behind-the-scenes images in the past week or so, it seems we’ve finally got an official sneak-peek.
But how do they look?
Appearing on Twitter, director David Ayer revealed the full line-up of DC’s Task Force X – otherwise known as the Suicide Squad. And it seems they’re in somewhat full costume.
Pictured from left to right, we have the following:
Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.
But what about those costumes?
There’s been a lot of hype surrounding the Squad as they prepare to make their big screen debut… and with Batman V Superman and Man of Steel taking a certain gritty, realistic style, it looks as though Suicide Squad is about to follow suit.
Don’t get me wrong – each of the characters is clearly influenced by the comic books… and you only have to look at Deadshot’s wrist-mounted guns to see the rather awesome attention to detail.
And in another separate image, it seems Deadshot will even be getting his signature mask…

But this first official line-up is already causing quite a stir.
Many comic book fans have responded that these new outfits look a lot like cosplayers… and it seems not everyone is happy with the new costumes.
Although Will Smith’s Deadshot is looking rather awesome already, and Captain Boomerang has been transformed into a tough-looking badass, I’m just not so sure about Harley Quinn. I mean, I get the look… and it certainly fits with the images we’ve seen of Jared Leto’s Joker.
But it’s just not perfect.
Still, this is the official Suicide Squad line-up. And all-in-all, I can’t help thinking it’s pretty good. Not great… but pretty good. Let’s just hope they look even better on screen.
Suicide Squad heads to cinemas on 5 August 2016.
