Terminator: Genisys Image Reveals Damaged T-800

Here's our first look at Terminator Genisys.

A new image from Terminator: Genisys gives us our first look at Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of Pops – a battle-damaged T-800 who might just secure Sarah Connor’s future.

It’s no secret that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role in Terminator: Genisys is a huge one. Taking care of Sarah Connor in her own past, it seems he’s been sent back from a dystopian future to ensure the survival of the resistance. And while recent images revealed most of the cast, it’s taken a leaked poster to reveal Arnie in all his glory.

First Look At Terminator Genisys

According to The Arnold Fans, some German bloggers were taking a tour of Paramount Studios when they stumbled upon a rather cool poster… and it features good old Arnie back in the role of a T-800.

“We have uncovered this sweet new image of Arnold as T-800 with some dramatic lighting and light facial damage,” they explain. “Apparently, some German bloggers were taking a tour of Paramount Studios, and saw this which is a poster located ‘in a dark corner of the studio’.”

Of course, the new image of Schwarzenegger reprising the role of a Terminator has spread fast and wide across the geekier parts of the internet… and if you ask me, he’s looking pretty good as a battle-scared T-800.

Clearly, this particular T-800 has seen a bit of action… and from recent reports, it looks as though ‘Pops’ – this Terminator’s nickname – was sent back to protect none other than Sarah Connor. That’s right, it seems she knew about the Terminators all along… depending on your understanding of time in the Terminator franchise.

Yep, it’s a bit of a mindbender so far, and might even mess with the entire Terminator timeline… but will it work as a film? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But seeing Arnie back as a Terminator is enough to make me pay attention.

Terminator: Genisys is in cinemas from 3 July 2015.

What do you think of this cool new image? Will Arnie be able to save the Terminator franchise? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
