Sylar fans are going to be disappointed – Zachary Quinto has turned down a rather epic return in Heroes Reborn.
He was one of the biggest stars of Heroes and for good reason. The cool yet callous Gabriel Gray was probably the most interesting character in the super-powered drama. And with a new series on the horizon, I think we all hoped to see Quinto reprise his role.
But it looks as though that’s just a pipe dream…
According to Buzzfeed reporter Kate Arthur, the 37-year-old Heroes star admitted that he won’t be back in the upcoming Heroes Reborn.
“No, I’m not going to go back,” he revealed. “I talked to them about it, and [series creator] Tim [Kring] reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me – I loved that job, I loved those people. I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it.”
Of course, Quinto shot to fame on the back of his role in Heroes and has since gone on to star as Spock in the rebooted Star Trek franchise as well as landing a role in Hitman: Agent 47.
But why doesn’t he want to go back to Heroes?
“Tim was very, very understanding,” Quinto added. “I’m thrilled that they’re doing it. I’m thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. It’s a great thing to be a part of. I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.”
At the moment, Jack Coleman is the only actor from the original series who will reprise his role – as Noah Bennet, the man in horn-rimmed glasses. But it seems he’ll be joined by a new face. Landing an unspecified role, Zachary Levi has joined the cast.
But will any former-Heroes join them? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
