After briefly appearing in the Avengers: Age of Ultron teaser trailer, Andy Serkis has set tongues wagging. But who will he be playing? It looks as though we might have some idea…
It’s been on the cards for a while – Andy Serkis, the man who already landed a role in Star Wars VII, will also be in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron. But it’s been rather unclear exactly how he’ll appear.
Known for his significant experience as a motion capture artist, many assumed that he’d be playing a mo-cap role. But after showing his face in the trailer, it looks as though he could be a figure from Marvel comic book past…
According to Furious Fanboys, the internet has been ablaze with the rumour that Andy Serkis could be playing Ulysses Klaw – procurer of vibranium and all-round evil-doer.
“It’s believed that Serkis may be playing Ulysses Klaw. In the Marvel Universe, Klaw is known for stealing Vibranium from Wakanda. He also killed T’Chaka, who is the father of T’Challa…otherwise known as Black Panther.”
Of course, there have been rumours of a Black Panther solo movie for some time… and with Klaw making a debut in Age of Ultron this could certainly be the entry into Wakanda that we’ve been missing.
And then there’s the subject of the Avengers sequel’s Africa shoot. Could these be scenes from Wakanda itself? Will the Avengers be heading there in the upcoming movie? If you ask me, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility. After all, Ultron will need quite a big vibranium haul for his legion of robotic killers.
Obviously, there’s very little to go on at this stage… and it seems that the rumours are entirely based on Andy Serkis’ look. But will he actually turn out to play Ulysses Klaw? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
