Don’t expect the X-Men to appear in Avengers: Infinity War.
In fact, it could take a very long time to bring them together.
During an interview with Vulture, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed that an Avengers / X-Men crossover is yeas away… despite the recent Disney / Fox buyout.
“[A crossover] would be years away,” he confirmed. “We’ve announced everything through 2019, so none of those would be adjusted.”
Of course, Marvel fans have been dying for this to happen.
After Marvel sold off the rights to several key franchises during the 1990s, fans have been hoping that the studio would one day regain the heroes for an all-star team-up. And with 20th Century Fox being bought up by Disney, it looks as though that may finally be on the cards.
But not just yet.
And when Feige was pressed about the possibility of integrating the two movie timelines, he revealed it’s not something they’re planning right now.
“We’re not thinking about it,” he said. “We’re focusing on everything we’ve already announced… If and when the deal actually happens, we’ll start to think more about it. Until then, we have a lot to do.”
Of course, Marvel already has its hands pretty full.
Avengers: Infinity War is setting the stage for another epic superhero team up in the currently untitled Avengers 4 movie… and with a packed slate right up until 2020, it looks as though a Disney / Fox superhero team up is going to have to wait.
Still, it’s going to be incredibly cool if it actually happens.
And we’re still hoping for Wolverine to make an appearance.
