Our first glimpse of Batman V Superman could be just around the corner… as the first trailer is rumoured to be attached to post-apocalyptic action flick, Mad Max: Fury Road.
According to Collider, the highly-anticipated Batman V Superman trailer is almost here.
“After speaking with a few sources, I’m happy to report the first Batman v Superman trailer is on the cusp of being released,” they revealed. “I’m told it’s absolutely attached to all copies of Mad Max: Fury Road, which is an obvious place for it to debut seeing as how Mad Max is WB’s first big movie of the summer.”
Of course, it feels like a rather shrewd move, especially considering the competition – Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
No, their release dates aren’t even remotely similar… but with Age of Ultron set to dominate social media in the run up to its release, it’s a wise decision to let the buzz die down.
“What I’ve heard is that Warners isn’t sure it wants to release the trailer while Avengers: Age of Ultron is destroying records and driving all social traffic during the end of April and early May,” they said. “If they wait until the weekend Mad Max opens on May 15th, Avengers will have already been out for two weeks and they can take over the conversation at a time when everyone is ready to talk about Batman and Superman. The bottom line is: we will absolutely have seen the first Batman v Superman trailer by May 15th.”
Obviously, this technically isn’t the first Batman V Superman trailer. After all, a short teaser was released during San Diego Comic Con. But is this the same trailer that’s coming soon?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but it looks as though Warner Bros. is taking the right approach. After all, with DC’s flagship heroes on screen together for the first time, they want to get this right.
And it deserves a bit of room to breathe.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice heads to cinemas on 25 March 2016.
