Happy Incept Day to Blade Runner replicant, Leon Kowalski!
That’s right folks – it’s that time again where science-fiction meets real life.
Blade Runner replicant Leon Kowalksi was ‘born’ today, 10 April 2017. Played by Brion James in the 1982 sci-fi classic, the moustachioed replicant was one of Roy Batty’s cohort of unauthorised off-world replicants…
The ones being hunted down by Rick Deckard in the movie.

Leon Kowalski is one of the first replicants we meet in Blade Runner, having been interviewed as part of the Voight-Kampff test we see early in the movie. Yep, he’s the one who shoots the unlucky investigator when he asks about his mother…
Of course, Leon isn’t the only one to have celebrated his incept date, with the iconic Roy Batty born back on 8 January 2016. Then there was Pris who celebrated her incept date on 14 February 2016 – A Valentine’s Day creation…
Finally, Zhora was incepted on 12 June 2016.
And so despite appearances, that makes Leon the youngster of the group.

“My birthday’s April 10 2017… how long do I live?”
Of course, there’s also Rachael – who finds out during the course of the movie that she’s a replicant. Her incept date is still to come, on 26 May 2017. As for Rick Deckard… we’re not entirely sure.
It’s been assumed by many that Deckard was a replicant… but will we eventually find out his incept date in the upcoming sequel, Blade Runner 2049?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
Blade Runner 2049 stars Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Edward James Olmos, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian and Ana de Armas.
Denis Villeneuve is directing the movie based on a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.
Blade Runner 2049 heads to cinemas on 6 October 2017.
