Channing Tatum has joined Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
The 35-year-old American actor took to Twitter last night, revealing that he’s joined the upcoming Kingsman sequel.
“I’m about to get all up in that Golden Circle,” he tweeted, along with an image of the film’s poster. “#Kingsman”. And it looks as though he’s keen to get stuck in.
But what role will he play?
Unfortunately, there’s been no word from the studio just yet… so his exact role remains a bit of a mystery. But considering his 2013 appearance in White House Down, I wouldn’t be surprised to find him joining the cast as an American intelligence agent.
And rather bizarrely, this could mean he shares some screen time with Sir Elton John.
Either way, Tatum is joining an increasingly stellar cast, which sees the return of Taron Egerton as Eggsy and Colin Firth as British agent, Harry Hart as well as Mark Strong as fellow Kingsman agent, Merlin.
Halle Berry is set to join them, reportedly in the role of director of the Central Intelligence Agency… and could end up working closely with Channing Tatum. At least, that’s what’s currently rumoured.
Julianne Moore and Pedro Pascal also join the Kingsman sequel in unknown roles.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle continues the adventures of Eggsy – a wayward youth from the rougher side of London who has been taken in and trained by Harry Hart – a suave secret service operative who has pushed young Eggsy to become one of the global elite intelligence operatives.
Matthew Vaughn returns to direct The Golden Circle based on a script by Jane Goldman.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle heads to cinemas on 16 June 2017.
