Daredevil will return to our screens a lot sooner than we thought… as Marvel reveals an April release date for its upcoming Netflix series.
According to Marvel’s official press release, the Daredevil TV show will air on April 2015… and you won’t have to wait for the UK to catch up.
“We’ve teased you with casting announcements and photos from Marvel’s Daredevil, but now we can finally tell you when you can see the series for yourself: April 10, Exclusively on Netflix.”
“That’s right Marvelites, Season 1 of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ will premiere with 13 one-hour episodes on April 10, 2015 at 12:01 a.m. PT in all territories where Netflix is available.”
You heard that right – the show will be heading online to all Netflix customers across the globe… and that means we won’t have to wait until after our friends in the USA. And what’s more, it means we can prepare for a marathon binge as all thirteen hour-long episodes are dumped online at the same time.
Thankfully, 10 April turns out to be a Friday… so that’s our weekend sorted.
Daredevil stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock – a blind lawyer who develops keen senses, taking to the streets in acrobatic style to chase down the criminals of New York who have managed to evade justice.
Of course, Daredevil is just the first in a series of Netflix exclusives, bringing Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and even Iron Fist to the small screen as Marvel prepares to assemble another superhero group – The Defenders.
But while Cage and Jones have already been cast – revealing Mike Colter and Kristen Ritter as the Marvel superheroes – we’re yet to see anyone step up as Iron Fist.
Joining Charlie Cox in Daredevil is Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen page – characters which were completely left out of the 2003 Ben Affleck movie.
Will Daredevil soar high after the lambasting its film counterpart received? Well it can’t do any worse… but for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
