We might see the new Fantastic Four in action sooner than we thought…
Although we’ve yet to see the new Fantastic Four in costume, it looks as though the first footage from the upcoming reboot is coming soon. In an interview with MTV News, Miles Teller – the 27-year-old Mr Fantastic – hinted that we may get our first glimpse of The Fantastic Four sometime soon.
“If I was a Fantastic Four fan, I’d want to see something too,” he said. “We shot the whole movie over the summer and images start to come out. We’re right on schedule, I think. I don’t know when they’re going to show it but the movie doesn’t come out until next August.”
“They just showed something for Jurassic World and that comes out a couple of months before ours,” he added. “I think it’s right on schedule.”
Of course, with Jurassic World appearing in cinemas just before The Fantastic Four, this could be a good indicator that the first teaser trailer is less than a couple of months away. But that assumes that the movie will follow a similar marketing trajectory to the upcoming dino epic.
Does this mean a Fantastic Four trailer is imminent? At the moment, it’s hard to say…
I can’t help thinking that the Fantastic Four reboot should have already released its first teaser… or at least some promotional images of the famous superhero group in costume. For one thing, it would go some way towards defusing the growing tension amongst the fans.
But more importantly, we’ve already seen several trailers for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron and even some brief glimpses of the upcoming Batman V Superman costumes.
But we’re still yet to see anything from the Fantastic Four.
Now, both Avengers 2 and Batman V Superman will be released a few months before Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot… but considering that they’re likely to be the biggest comic book movies of the year, they’re clearly big competition for the Fantastic Four reboot. And I can’t help thinking that 20th Century Fox might want fans to know that they can stand alongside these two heavyweights.
Of course, after the rather horrific previous Fantastic Four movies, they have a hell of a lot to prove. But will the Fantastic Four make a formidable team this time around?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
